false alarm

it was 2rd sept 2004, the most tiring (physically and mentally) day of all my pregnancy period. today, was when one SM decided to put pressure on me. today was when he decided to make my life miserable.

most of my colleagues went down for lunch. i was coming to my 36th weeks of pregnancy then. neither i was hungry nor in the mood of windows shopping (shopping complex is just downstairs) so i decided to stay on my cubicle and web-browsing. i was tired. the lunch time was over when i started to doze-off. only God knows why suddenly for 5 minutes i wanted to close my eyes so much that when he, the SM passed by me, he saw me, leaning my head onto workstation!

immediately, after he passed by, my colleague called up my name and i was awake. not long after that, we got an email about 'sleeping during lunch hour'. i mean, can't you advise first? must you sibuk all the time? fyi this SM always finding ways to irritate all of us. so when this thing happen, i came forward and confessed to my boss that i was caught red-handed by the SM over lunch hour. fortunately my boss understood

then i continued working until i realized it was 5.15 pm. not much work to do while waiting for DH to fetch, i decided to play 'solitaire'. again, being my bad luck day, the same SM passed by. damn! i thought he purposely wanted to mess around with me. and yes, you guessed right. he stopped this time and bluntly asked 'is that solitaire?' how i wanted so much to cynically answer..'err.. not solitaire but i a game that i invented by myself'. come on, of course IT IS solitaire- it's so a common and plain game that even a 5 year old kid wouldn't want to play it!! within 2-3 minutes, my phone rang- it was my immediate team leader, who had to call me to please the SM.

i was so frustrated that the first thing i did in the car was screaming. then i narrated everything to DH, of course nothing much he could do except to listen to every whine and unsatisfaction. he advised me to stay calm and joked about my baby, 'sabar, nanti kang terkeluar baby'.

we reached home quite late and was waiting for the maghrib's call to prayer while watching Monter's Garage ( DH loves anything about cars, motocycles and its siblings) suddenly i felt the urge to pee. off i went to the loo and i suspected something was not right. somehow, i could not control my muscles, the water just pouring out and yet the the volume was normal. later i joined DH again. this time it was DH who saw my wet pyjama. i hurried to the loo and a rush of running water fell down. so much that it was like a waterfall! both DH and i were panic. but amazingly i did not feel any pain. DH started to think that baby will come out soon. he quickly prayed and packed baby stuff into a bag just in case i was about to deliver.

about 8.15pm we reached sjmc and straight away headed to delivery room. the opening was 3 cm. thank to God, i still did not feel any pain but i was so nervous. i mean i was not even 36th weeks!! how can i deliver? my gynae was notified and came to inspect later. she suggested to put the baby 'on hold' ie to stop contractions so that i need not to deliver as the baby was premature. she would not allow me to risk my baby's condition; baby in that age could suffer lungs problem. obviously i suffered water breakage due to urine infection.

was monitored 48 hours in the war and baby was well-behaved. practically no big moves at all due to pills and dripping, i guess. was given 2 jabs of steroid to mature baby's lung. though there were no baby delivered, some concerned colleagues came to visit.

on saturday afternoon, after gynae's thorough inspection, i was allowed to go home. how relief i was but i kept on thinking chances to deliver anytime soon.
