since it's still Syawal, i assume it's still not late to recap how was my raya holiday like.
due to alif's bronchopnemonia, i was left with 0 annual leave. yes, all last 10 days AL were spent either in hospital or at home -nursing him. nway my boss was kind enough to approve my 1-day raya leave. and since deepavali was somewhat coincide with raya, journey to my kg was smooth. a colleague burnt raya songs, so those were our companions while in the car.
as long as i remember, i always love raya. whenever raya comes, it never fails to make me counting days to finally say ' YAY, ESOK RAYA!!", playing sparklers, countless time trying baju and kasut raya , parading in front of mirror. yes, that bad. only now, after being a mom, i'm a little bit ashamed to show off kids side of me in front of my nephews and nieces, so this year i only joined them to show my kasut raya. heh! :P then my younger sis sibuk komen, ya allah..hang ni macam budak²!
i think my raya preparation was moderate. only one kurung (which i regretly cannot wear for solat raya due to red flag) and blue kebarung which i made for BIL's marriage few months back. so hubby and i went to wisma yakin looking for his baju melayu that'll match my kebarung since earlier he bought alif's cekak musang in blue. we were so lucky we found a matching baju melayu like alif's.. i mean the same fabric, at the same kedai and it fits him nicely!
okay, back to raya, as usual, after solat raya, we will gather and have a beraya session. mak and ayah as usual will sit on sofa while us siblings will arrange and queue accordingly to birth order, with our spouse and child(ren) in between. my family is big, wahh macam keretapi like that... but it has become a tradition in my family. this is of course the sad part where you ask for forgiveness but best time for kids cos they gonna get their angpows as they salam. syoknyee raya!!
after that, we had a photo session, except for lil' alif who was sleeping. then, the guys went out for 'baraan' (read: all guys in the block, about 20 families of them, visit each house, say takbir and eat dishes served). for ours, mak made her special nasi dagang and homemade satay :). i guess that explains why hubby loves to beraya in my kg. he's spoilt with good food!! then, alif woke up and had his portion of mak tuk's dishes.

next, hubby, me and alif went to ana's, aida's and az's. later that night, all of us mak mah clan went to a relative's house. lucky alif didn't throw any tantrum though i bet he must have been very tired.
needless to say, we had an enjoyable raya although both hubby and alif contacted conjunctivits in the evening of 1st Syawal, and yours truly the next day.
2nd Syawal, like previous year, we went back to ipoh for bbq at hubby's autie house. though the food was superb but i was to tired to enjoy them. the only difference was that we stopped at teluk intan to beraya @ hubby's friend. later that nite, checked in at a hotel in ipoh.
3rd Syawal, after breakfast, 3 cars including ours convoyed to kuala kangsar after beraya @ jelapang, hubby's uncle house. our eyesights were deterioting therefore initial plan to beraya to penang had to be postponed, so was pasembor. ishkk ishkk meleleh laa lagi air liur alif
hubby decided to balik rumah, despite the expected jam. biasa la PLUS kan? he used highway and old route so managed to tapau the well-known yik mun's pau @ tg malim he he see, ade hikmah walaupon bengang sbb kete gerak 20km/j!
reached home safe and sound after 5 hr drive. rest and sleepzzzzzzz
