how do you feel when you accomplish your long wishlist? you feel contented. aahh yes, that's how i feel though sadly, seems like the only quality time i could spend with hubby and alif are only weekends. and last weekend was extra special cos i had few friends coming over. YAY!! hooray for y@hoogroup!
shopping for household furniture
hubby been wanting to get a recliner armchair to complete our living area. so when fell@ offer was published in local newspaper, needless to say, he was the happiest man on earth! it was really a good bargain, plus we managed to get good deal for sofa slip cover material. looks like his plan for brown earth-colored living area gonna be executed soon. (yes, he's so into decorating unlike yours truly) and i must add that the console and side table match our oak display and tv cabinets tremendously. so, with the new items purchased, leaving us to hunt for 7 X 10 carpet. made a quick trip to nearest sh@l@ni but the price was so disappointing! it was way too pricey for a warehouse standard padahal we got cheaper price for the same exact belgium carpet @ one of the shops in the famous and crowded jalan TAR when i brought mak there last weekend. maybe we'll pay another visit @ the shop when the time comes. imagine the same exact runner costs 120 compared to 80. that much difference.
potluck
the plan to meet up with x-asbklians was long overdue. reason being cannot accomodate everyone's time and place. initially we're supposed to meet up @ KLCC. but i know how crowded KLCC can be, especially during weekends and things can get crazier when iset@n was on sale. and last weekend was the clearance sale. to get a place to eat for 4 would be hard; imagine the trouble to get 15 free seats with kids in tow. so i volunteered my small hut and everyone agreed.
early morning, after exhausting saturday rushing here and there to buy furniture and all, hubby and i woke up and started cleaning the house:vacuuming, dusting. thank God for reunion or else the cobweb will spread wider and the dust merrier he he. alif was still asleep so we both could concentrate on doing the chores without any disturbance. next off to tesco for my secret menu.
2pm, no one was around yet. hubby who was eager to welcome my friends at first started to get sleepy after a heavy dosage of nasi campur from mamak. i was starting to get worried. what if nobody came? who will eat my secret menu? nahhh, isma texted earlier she would come. ana too said she's coming. started to call the rest who promised to make it, but all was fwded to voice mail system. wtf is wrong with m@xis anyway? congested line?
3 pm, still no one came. alamak? panic mode turned on already. hubby joked earlier we gonna need to set up a booth tepi jalan to sell our secret menu if no one came. pelik cos no one called me yet to ask for directions (kot² la if diorang sesat ke apa ke...) hehe actually was consoling myself.
4 pm, was watching @STRO when the door bell rang. huhuhu ana came! at last..after 2 hours of agony waiting. heheh poor yusry, hubby was still sleeping, i blamed the kas-kas. then sarah and sister arrived. soon, isma and her 3 bodyguards pulak sampai. last but not least zura, hubby and 2 daughters. talking about time management :P told you guys kalau janji melayu punya time.
turned out my secret menu was the same as sarah's and zura's. funny funny. isma brought her homemade choc cake and yummylicious triffle. ana bought orange spongy cake, butter cake and cookies icecream. hahaha the guys gotta eat first, so each of them tried 3 different spaghettis at one go! next time we have to tell out menu beforehand la pulak.. what to do? great minds think alike kan kan?
as usual guys talk about balls and the likes read: watching ball on ESPN. while we girls dwell into more serious topics like husbands and MILs!! he he he what else is more interesting? had so much to talk after 13 years not seeing each other! sampaikan semua tinggalkan anak dengan husbang masing².. till one point ana's son, faris, went missing!! padahal faris was with hubby and the kids watching alif's pictures on computer.
punyala syok sembang sampai lupa ambik gambar. so before everybody made a move, we took few shots. see how happy we were? all sengih from ear to ear :)
to you guys who came, many many thanks to make it to terceruk place of mine. if you happen to be near my place, do sms/call. we definitely need to meet again! bbq thingy sounds great :)
