family of hernias

my life has been fully occupied with family activites this past few weekends. last 2 saturdays, my chinese cousin got married in kepong so the whole mak mah's clan came down to attend the ceremony as a curteous gesture, for their support all these while. you see, the lai families came down to every weddings and sometimes on raya day to keep the family bonding. anyway the next day, i prepared lunch with much of their help at my place. pardon me, no pictures to accompany this entry cos i was so into doing what i was doing :P hihihi busy betul bunyi nyaa ek? while the kids and some grownups enjoyed themseleves silly in the pool. and btw all mak's grandsons dah bersunat except for lil alif. even muiz yang sebaya alif pon dah selamat okayy!.. i think i'll wait sometime for that special occassion :) dunno why i feel he's too little to be circumsized plus i cannot affort to take 5 days leave to nurse alif at home. cuti dah nak habiss

nway enough about that. moving on to my subject, if you've been to my blog before i've written an entry when ayah went for an operation some months ago, and also about alif's encounter on the same illness when he was warded for pneumonia bronchitis last september '05. may be many of us assume that only men could get hernia aka angin pasang, me included. little that i know women too could get hernia! and yes, mak just had an operation yesterday (tuesday 12th dec) afternoon. mak's version of hernia i believe is umbilical since the surgeon cut her open centrally, just near her pusat. kan dr isma kan?

nway 2 of my brothers had undergone the surgery to fix the problem as well. so that makes us family of hernias hihihih

i took half day off and straight away to SMC. ayah was waiting in the warded room so i joined him. i was around to help moving mak onto the bed. alhamdulillah she looked OK and didn't vomit or anything even after was knocked down with GA and LA. they wheeled her in around 2pm. mak had to wait for 2 hours before she could eat, so we told her to sleep first but to no avail. perhaps mak was so relieved that the operation was over and done with :)

everything went well until mak said she wanted to pee. i told her to pee on the bed, using the special basin but she refused. she claimed she wouldn't able to. the first problem , she's on drip so need to hold the bottle higher or her blood will come out due to pressure. second problem, she was cut on tommy so made it harder for her to move and mak is one big lady. but slowly we managed to pull her off from bed and i was all the time beside her, so that she could lean on myself. it may took just 3 big steps but it felt like a looong time for her to reach the toilet door. nengok²

eh mak, ada darah?! only then i realized those red dots on the floor.. trailing from the bed! how could i missed that?

eh cam mana ni... mak nak k*****g.

i know mak was panic.. hell, i was panic too. nurses were called. one of them told me it was an active bleeding but luckily the stitches were still intact. kalau tak..awwww kena jahit hidup² sekali lagi.. scary kan? nurses had to do another round of wound dressing. and sambil tu sound, kakak lain kali panggil nurse ye.. jangan ikut cakap makcik jee. hehhehhe

lepas tu mak had no choice but to pee on bed, not before the 2 lovely nurses were shooed away from the room.. hihihihihi tengah² panic boleh pulak mak buat kelakar. and btw the stitches was quite long.. about the length of my index finger. huhuhh jenuh la kena makan ikan ruan lepas ni

so guys, please do pray for mak's speedy recovery. hopefully semuanya OK je lah..insyaAllah.. risau jugak sebenanya sebab mak diabetic. semoga sugar level mak boleh dicontrol sampai la luka sembuh betul² laa..
